This post's main purpose is to explain Bridge/Brooklyn's background and powers in more detail. Spoilers for the whole series, obvs., and for simplicity's sake he'll be referred to as Bridge.
At first glance, Bridge Carson seems to be a somewhat-comical and naïve figure, not the kind of person one would expect to be a member of the intergalactic police force Space Patrol Delta and a Power Ranger, part of the most elite crimefighting force known to man. He has a very eclectic personality and has such odd habits as wriggling the fingers of his right hand whenever he says the word "buttery" and standing on his head when he needs to ponder a tough problem (his rationale for the latter being that gravity causes ideas to go down to his head, letting his brain soak them up better). He rambles a lot when he speaks and often explains things in a roundabout way, as well, constantly bemusing and frustrating his friends and teammates. Bridge often lacks self-confidence because his inability to communicate well leads others to dismiss him or even openly poke fun at him when they can't understand him. He often goes off by himself to investigate cases when his teammates will not listen to him. He also has a hard time speaking up in his own defense, usually letting snide remarks slide without comment even when he is obviously hurt.
Bridge's quirky manner disguises sharp intelligence, great detective skills, and a heart of gold underneath it all, however. His psychic powers (described in more detail below) allow him to see different perspectives all at once, which is likely why he has trouble explaining things in a straightforward way- his actor, Matt Austin, once described it as "a Rubiks cube-like way of thinking". He is also easily able to empathize with people and understands that his friends do still love and care about him, even when they're short with him, and always tries to see the best in people, believing in them when nobody else will. Bridge is quite neutral and tries to treat everyone equally, even when his teammates do not get along. He is immensely loyal to them and to S.P.D., following his heart and fighting to the best of his ability.
Physically, Bridge isn't in as good of shape as, say, his teammate and best friend Sky (known in Edensphere as Spike), and his fighting skills are sometimes lacking, but he always pushes himself to defend those he cares about.
Before Bridge was born, one or both of his parents worked for S.P.D. in a series of experiments to make Ranger powers, and in the process received repeated exposure to cellular enhancers that altered their DNA, causing a genetic mutation in Bridge. He was born with somewhat-limited (and ill-defined) psychic powers, which are channeled through his hands; in canon, he wears leather gloves to help suppress his powers and takes them off in order to use them.
His first ability is seeing and reading auras, or colorful energy fields emanating from people and objects; the colors of an aura seemed to be tied to a person's personality, moods, and thought patterns, so he is able to generally understand how a person is feeling or what their nature is. His second ability is seeing lingering energy signatures to find out what happened in the recent past; for example, in one episode, he used this to track a monster that had recently passed through the area, and in another, he was able to see through an alien's disguise and expose him as an impostor.
Bridge's third ability is touching things to find out more information about them. In one episode, he picked up a person that had been turned into a doll and saw a very clear vision of what had happened to them. Later on, was able to touch a doll belonging to one of the villains and discern where a missing boy that had been with the villain was hiding. However, most of the time he doesn't see a complete picture, just flashes of where the object has been in the past or what people connected to it are doing, and he and his teammates must fill in the missing pieces themselves.
His fourth and fifth abilities are less-developed and may be unconscious, as they only occurred in one episode each; once, with some effort, he was able to read his teammates' thoughts (but could not "send" his thoughts in return, nor influence the others' minds in any way), and another time, he had visions of the future, but again it was limited to one episode, only happened when he was sleeping, and the visions turned out to be mostly incorrect anyway.
When the S.P.D. series began, Bridge was a disorganized cadet who lacked a lot of confidence in himself. His appearance was always unkempt- for instance, he never tucked his shirt in, his hair was a bit messy and needed a cut, and his clothes fit him poorly. His habit of rambling was also a problem, as he sometimes interrupted even his commanding officer to comment on things, and his teammates Sky Tate and Sydney Drew often got exasperated with his tendency to ask long, drawn-out questions at the most inconvenient of times. However, he easily settled into his role as the Green Power Ranger and was the first one to really welcome the Rangers' new teammates, the former street thieves Jack Landors (Ghost in Edensphere) and Z Delgado, remaining fairly neutral and liking everyone despite everyone else's initial conflicts with one another.
As time went on, Bridge's teammates learned to adjust to his quirks, and though they could still become impatient with him or dismiss him, they learned how useful he and his powers could be, and in turn, this led to Bridge's confidence growing- symbolized outwardly by his starting to take care of himself by grooming himself better. He also gained the ability to stand up for himself and other people, such as when he believed in a new S.P.D. cadet named Sophie even though the others mistrusted her due to her being a cyborg. He also learned how to better utilize his powers and curb his tendency to ramble, instead trying to explain things more clearly and concisely. When Bridge was kidnapped in a later episode, all of his teammates banded together and threw their efforts into finding him, showing just how much they'd grown to care for him in return.
At the end of the series, Bridge is more organized and controlled. He is promoted to the position of Blue Ranger, the second-in-command of his squad, after Jack leaves and Sky becomes the team's leader, showing just how far he's come.
PAST RELATIONSHIPS WITH CHARACTERS CURRENTLY IN EDENSPHERE
Spike (Sky Tate) - In canon, Sky and Bridge were at first a little distant with one another due to Sky's personaly, but they eventually became closer and closer, and by the end of the series it's obvious they care deeply about each other. In my head-canon, they were best friends before they both came to Edensphere. However, this relationship will of course not immediately carry over to the Sphere- indeed, it might take a while for them to even build back up to being best friends, considering Spike's loner nature and obsession with regaining his memories.
Ghost (Jack Landors) - In canon, Jack and Bridge warmed up to each other very quickly, though Jack could sometimes be impatient with and dismissive of Bridge due to his rambly nature. However, most of the time they got along quite well, even double-teaming Sky with some teasing once or twice.
