63. City on Fire

Jeez, you die for a few days and everything changes.
Not only is the entire second floor of the Sphere different, but now people are telling me I'm head Scavenger! The old head perished in the fire and hasn't come back yet, and apparently I have the most seniority (which makes sense, I've been working there for a year after all), so, ah, Mr. Snap sir, and Justice, and Bastet and/or Stoneface I suppose we'll have to meet pronto to get the Scavengers in some kind of order and start finding more stuff to rebuild with.
Before anybody asks, no, I don't remember how I died, and frankly, I don't want to know. The last thing I remember is looking out my window and seeing the fire, and that's it. About the only good things that came out of this are getting Rabbit as my twin, and I still got to keep my old journal! It was right there on my kitchen table, would you believe? Sky's and my house has some hefty smoke damage, but otherwise it's pretty much intact.
... speaking of Sky (as in Spike, of course, not the other Sky), anyone seen him? How about Logan? Or Ghost?

Well, way to stick my foot in my mouth right after popping out. I'm sorry. I won't try and erase my words; all I can do is apologize for being an insensitve clod and roll up my sleeves and get to work.
