this place really really needs to stop fucking with my mind. yuh-hmm. that would be great.

[OOC note: When Bridge first came to the Sphere, he didn't know to wear gloves to suppress his powers, so the siren call is similar to how he'd hear snatches of peoples' thoughts from time to time. Naturally, when it started happening again he had another "oh shit my powers are going out of control" moment, but thankfully Spike kept his journal from him til it passed.]

[Bridge slowly makes his way to Cara's place and knocks on the door. He looks very tired, but not completely broken like he did after getting Sight's dream.]

Cara? It's me.

[She opens the door and smiles at him... yeah, he does look pretty beat.]

Hey, c'mon in Bridge. The cocoa's just ready.

[Heads into the kitchen and pours it into the mugs, handing one to him and taking a seat at the table.]

Oh... and watch out for Lucky. He likes to sit on people's heads.

[He returns the smile, a bit weakly but genuinely, and walks in, accepting the mug and seating himself at the table.]

Gotcha. And thanks for this- anything to help me sleep that's not a sedative is good. It's WAY too easy to become dependent on those things- not that I think the medics would let me, of course.

[Bridge takes a big drink, and his smile becomes wider.]

Mmm, it's good. I'm sorry if I scared you. I don't mean to keep doing that... and, well, if Spike hadn't grabbed my journal from me you would've been subjected to another entry like when I had that freaky dream.

[Her smile grows a bit in response to his.]

It's all right. I don't like this much either... it gave me a real headache before, but that seems like a piece of cake compared to what you have to deal with when things like this happen.

[Bridge nods slowly, and stares down into his drink.]

Yeah... my powers are a real double-edged sword. They do bad things to me sometimes, but at the same time, without them I don't think I'd be Bridge. It would take away what makes me me- what makes me think the way I do, the way I understand and relate to other people.

[He laughs, softly and a little bitterly.]

It IS tough sometimes, but I can live with them. It's better than when I first got here and didn't know how to control them at all.

[Actually isn't really sure what you're supposed to do with psychic powers. As far as she knows they're good for causing headaches. But still.]

On occasion. They can help when I'm fixing things- sometimes I can see what they looked like before they were broken or touch them to find out.
